The industry problem/opportunity
Despite widespread adoption of digital clinical and information systems, there continues to be delays and difficulties accessing and analysing relevant data quickly from Electronic Medical Records in Australian hospitals, for quality improvement, safety assurance and accreditation.
The solution
The objective of this project – which brings together a broad group of industry participants: Monash University, Eastern Health, Department of Health Victoria and The Australian Council of Healthcare Standards – is to develop and prove a reusable framework that automates the data extraction and visualisation of key hospital accreditation standards and metrics.
The impact
The project will provide the opportunity for Australian hospitals to adopt near-real-time, standardised and secure data and analytics platform that provides safety and quality and performance metrics to support NSQHS accreditation and continuous quality of services improvements.

It is a special group of organisations and individuals contributing to this project.”
What’s next
An opportunity has been identified to validate and transform this into a scaled platform and service across Australian hospitals interoperable with various electronic medical record systems.
