Actionable data for clinicians and external accreditors in support of quality care provision
Project Participants
Status: Completed
Opportunity
The ADaPt-EH project was established to address the difficulties in accessing and analysing relevant data efficiently and accurately from Electronic Medical Records (EMR) in Australian hospitals for the purposes of National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards accreditation and continuous quality improvement and safety assurance.
The ADaPt-EH collaboration brought together by the Digital Health CRC, includes Eastern Health (EH), Monash University, Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS), and the Victorian Department of Health (DoH).
Project objective
The project aims to develop and validate a reusable framework to automate data extraction and visualisation of key metrics for standards required for hospital accreditation in Australia.
The ADaPt platform will enable quality and safety staff, clinicians and clinical experts, management and executives to obtain near real-time information through a suite of co-designed dashboards aligned to measures of the NSQHS accreditation process to support continuous quality improvement for patient outcomes.

Project Update
Building on the success and outcomes of the collaboration, the project has entered Phase 2 to explore the application and adoption of the Platform across a range of health service settings.
We invite expressions of interest from hospital and health services to discuss potential involvement in this phase.
