Internship project: Sustaining performance improvement for clinical indicator program member organisations of the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards

Opportunity

The aim of this project is to provide data to Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) members on the time to clinical indicator improvement and to allow ACHS to be more proactive in its support for organisations that need to improve.

Project Objective

• Identify the frequency of occurrence of benchmark red flags in a retrospective data set of healthcare organisations, and the proportion that subsequently returns to a neutral benchmark.
• Describe the time it takes for each organisation to return to the benchmark after receiving a red flag.
• Determine how long it takes most organisations to return to a neutral benchmark after receiving a red flag.
