Internship project: Developing a glucose prediction model to enable consumers to understand food choices
Project Participants
Status: Completed
Opportunity
A glucose prediction model can support patients to understand how their food choices affect their health by providing real-time feedback. In clinical settings, the glucose prediction model can be used to guide patients toward healthier diet choices that support their overall treatment plan.
This project will aim to develop and evaluate the use of a glucose prediction model to support healthier food choices in comparison to not providing any glucose predictions. The results will be analysed and interpreted by a primary care clinician to determine their efficacy in a clinical setting.
Project Objectives
- Develop a machine learning model that accurately predicts patient glucose responses.
- Benchmark the replicated machine learning model against existing glucose prediction models.
- Develop recommendations for the use of the machine learning models that predict patient glucose responses in clinical settings.
