Status: Completed

Opportunity

Digital technologies have the potential to support the delivery of accessible, adaptable, scalable, and cost-effective interventions to prevent and manage musculoskeletal disorders and early-stage pain. This research project aims to deliver a digital and asynchronous coaching intervention via the smartphone app ‘BodyGuide’ to an at-risk corporate population of 100+ employees. The app intervention intends to improve participants’ health literacy and support pain and injury prevention in a workplace environment.

This research will provide insights into the efficacy of the BodyGuide app for building health literacy and delivering asynchronous coaching for musculoskeletal pain and injury prevention, and provide perspectives of corporate participants who use BodyGuide.

Project Objectives

  1. Explore the effectiveness of smartphone apps and asynchronous coaching for improving health literacy and wellbeing.
  2. Determine whether BodyGuide is effective at supporting a reduction in workplace injury and pain and improving employee wellbeing.
  3. Assess user experiences and perspectives of the BodyGuide smartphone app and asynchronous coaching.
