Project Participants

Status: Ongoing

Opportunity

This project will implement and evaluate the data standards, inter-operability solutions, and quality of care benchmarking capability designed and constructed in Phases 1-2 of the DHCRC-funded Aged Care Data Compare (ACDC) project (concluding June 2022). It will road test infrastructure and protocols in partnership with industry collaborators including residential aged care facility (RACF) providers, software vendors and the Department of Health. It will complement and strengthen the Department’s effort to build a robust quality framework for Australian residential aged care. It will accelerate the uptake of the HL7-FHIR capability developed within ACDC, across the Australian healthcare environment and internationally.

Project Objectives

This project will implement and evaluate the data standards, interoperability solutions, and quality of care benchmarking capability designed and constructed in Phases 1-2 of the Aged Care Data Compare (ACDC) project (DHCRC-0078, concluded in June 2022). It will build and road-test an app, infrastructure and protocols in partnership with Regis Aged Care to improve the way that data is used within Australian residential aged care system.
