Internship project: Supporting super users to drive digital transformation in health care
Project Participants

Opportunity
Building capacity for the workforce to use digital technologies safely and effectively is a major challenge facing the health sector. This is a problem because lack of digital health capability is a known barrier to digital transformation and workforce adoption of these technologies in practice. One group that is currently poorly supported in initiatives to build digital health capability are ‘super users’, individuals within the health sector who are experts in a digital system or process. Due to their unique domain expertise and often passion for digital adoption, these individuals have a potentially key role as change champions for digital transformation. It is imperative that the digital health training needs of this cohort are better understood in order to harness their potential to drive change.
This project aims to scope the training needs of health technology super users to support them to drive digital transformation in the sector. During the project, the intern will conduct a documentary analysis of the literature and information available from organisations potentially offering relevant training to understand training gaps and needs of learners in this space. If time permits, interviews may be conducted with super users about their training needs. Findings from this project will be used to inform the development of training offerings for digital health super users.
Project Objectives
- Identify the core capabilities digital health super users need to drive digital transformation.
- Describe the training needs of digital health super users to drive digital transformation.
- Scope how training for digital health super users should be designed, delivered and operationalised.
