Health Research for All: the development and evaluation of a central resource platform for inclusive health research
Project Participants
Status: Ongoing
Opportunity
We believe health care cannot be inclusive if health research is not inclusive. Currently health research is not inclusive of all and this contribute to the perpetuation of health inequities for many communities (including First Nation Australians, migrant and refugees, LGBTQIA+ communities, people living with disabilities etc.). Our work has shown that many researchers lack knowledge and confidence to design, plan and conduct inclusive health research.
The Health Research for All program aims to address this by delivering an online capacity-building product for researchers, through the curation and development of high quality resources that will enable researchers to undertake more inclusive research.
We aim to maximise the impact of best practice research example through case studies that also showcase lived-experience advocates and bring voices of community closer to the research world. To deliver a product informed by those that become participants of research, we aim to engage with community members to inform and vet the content featured on this hub.
By building researchers capacity in partnership with communities, we aim to empower the health research workforce to conduct more inclusive research, build trust with communities and ultimately, contribute to the provision of inclusive health research to inform inclusive healthcare.
